Feeding Ducks

Today we took advantage of a sunny Wiesbaden afternoon to venture down to the city park and feed the ducks. I love this picture, because of Little Brother's intent studying of how to do the (dangerous) thing his big sister is doing. Sibling, man oh man.

Globalization

What else would one expect to see on a midday walk in an old European city park?

1st Haircut, with Graham-Bribery Option

It was tough to cut the hair that he had while he was in utero, you know? I mean, I kept thinking, he has had this hair all of his life! How many of us can say that? Also he definitely has lost some of his "babyness" as a result, but he is still a sweet little creature in a henley and madras pants, so we are living with it. Oh, and Daddy was gone for this, so all photographs are courtesy of the talented 4.4 year old big sister.

Trip to Stuttgart

Daddy is gone again, so when a friend in Stuttgart called and invited the kids and I down for a few days - we went!

Now, this American family is livin' the German life. Wow. We had a wonderful time. The next time she is willing to have my one-year-old son attempt to ride on her one-year-old son like a horse, we hope to go back as a family. These friends of ours have only lived in Stuttgart for several months, but they live in a beautiful German house on a narrow street in a small town about 20 km from Stuttgart itself. We enjoyed German pastries that they brought home from their morning walk to the bus stop, we celebrated two birthdays, I got in trouble for parking my Ameri-van in someone else's spot (who knew? It looked like the side of the road to me!), we strolled through the sunny town for hours with five children in tow, we bought fresh farm eggs from a hen house and left our money in a box, the sun was plentiful, as was the good conversation. Lovely, wonderful, smashing. I am proud of you Babblers!

Catch-Up

The pilot has returned after a four-day jaunt in England and I am sighing a big ol' sigh this time. Don't know what it was, it was just tough on me this time. Nonetheless, we got to pick him up at an Air Force Base this afternoon and all have pizza together tonight and all feels right in the world.

Nonetheless, I am downloading the camera from the last week and it is funny to see all the images together of what it is like to have pure, unadulterated V and S for 96 hours:
