Soon to be the Newest Catholic in Town

Great News -- Seth Robert will be baptized on May 18th at 13:15 at St. John the Baptist Church in Lockport, NY. This will be very special, since it was the same church in which Ethan was baptized as a boy. Seth's wonderful godparents will be Alexandra Leader, my beloved college roommate and her husband Bernardo Canga, a charming Spaniard of impeccable Catholic standing. Unfortunately they are living in Asturias, Spain and will not be physically present. Seth is blessed to have them as padrinos, nonetheless.

Male Morning Catnap

Daddy had to do his C-12 night flight a couple of days ago, so an exhausted Padre and son took advantage of the late morning lull to catch some Zzzz on the couch.

Seth the Boss, Viv the Doggie

Today Vivian found a real treasure on our nature walk.... a bent and mangled dog tag that proved that some local pooch had had its rabies shot. Our days in Alabama are numbered and we are eating weird things out of our pantry. that was a non sequiter and insert clever transition here.. we are also learning that Seth is the boss (says Viv, this is a huge admission for a girl like her to make). This blog entry is being written too late at night and I am drained of all fluid from the breast milk demands being placed on my body by our bouncing baby boy. Good night. Thanks for coming.

Florida!

Well, the Loeffert family spent the weekend on the Florida beaches, about two hours from home. Holy cow do you need a lot of gear to take young children to the beach. I think we were short: one wagon, one tent, two sweatshirts, many snack foods, one baby backpack, one baby swimsuit, and guess what, Viv totally had the time of her life. Kids rule.

Nature Walk

Viv, Seth and I love to take "nature walks" in our neighborhood here in Dothan. I love knowing that, even though I often feel underwhelmed with our current geographic location, everything is awe-inspiring to a 3.5 year-old joyous little girl. Thanks God.

Sibling Love

Today Vivian had her dream come true, and we realized that Seth is the perfect little laid-back soul we need around here.

Flight-Planning

This posting is in honor of our daddy successfully passing his Phase 2 check-ride here at the Army Fixed Wing Aviation Course this morning! We are very proud of him, however, I must attribute his success largely to innate talent, since most of his studying time at home involves assistance (as shown above) from his mini-flight crew.
